"Keeping His Spirit Alive"

Tyler was born in Waltham, Mass on April 8, 1993. . In 1999, the family moved to Stuart, Florida. Tyler attended various elementary and middle schools before reaching MCHS.  Tyler played baseball, along with football for the Stuart Hornets for many years before coming to Martin County High School.

Tyler went with a family friend on the flight to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.  Tyler was killed July 17, 2008 on that “Angel Flight” in Tampa, Florida. Tyler had a chance to go away to Orlando for a few days with friends and he had refused.  He had already made a promise to a family friend to be there for her.

How many 15 year olds do you know who would do that?

Tyler was strong yet sensitive and very compassionate. He had grown into a wonderful young man; To do what he did for a friend, showed his integrity.  Tyler gave his life while helping  another person.  At the age of fifteen, Tyler already had learned something many adults never learn.  He learned about compassion and how to be a true friend.
